Paint The Forest 2010

I am one of the top 50 Honorees to be included in " Paint The Forest" a juried art competition. My painting "Young Sequoias" is from imagination but was inspired by a hike along a stream on Mount Tamalpais.

Vista Point, 280 & 92

Inspiration Point, Presidio

When I woke up this morning, I was excited to see that it was actually clear and sunny in the city. Got my painting gear and headed to the coast. But I get there and, of course, the fog is there to greet me and tell me to find some place else to paint. So I ended up plein air painting in the Presidio at Inspiration point near the Arguello St. gate. After the first one, I had some time to spare so I painted a smaller color sketch in about 35 minutes.

Burlingame Paint Out 2010

I participated in my first paint out in the city of Burlingame last weekend. I received Honorable Mention for my painting of the train station and row of eucalyptus trees. Overall it was a warm and encouraging event thanks to the Burlingame residents who stopped by my easel to say hello.
